Loris joined the team in October 2024 as a postdoctoral researcher on an Innosuisse project to develop Solskin AI, the self-learning Artificial Intelligence optimizing the behavior of Solskin, the commercialized version of the adaptive solar facade first developed in the lab ten years prior. Before this project, he was the Head of Software & AI at Zurich Soft Robotics GmbH, owner of Solskin.
He holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics and an M.Sc. in Energy Management & Sustainability, which he received in 2017 and 2019 from EPFL. He then obtained his Ph.D. in applications of Artificial Intelligence to building modeling and control in 2024 between Empa and EPFL.
