Abel Sepúlveda is a researcher and lecturer at ETH Zurich, where he leads his Human-centric Metric for Sunlight Exposure (HUMES) project in the framework of the Daylight Integration Nexus (DINx) research. The project investigates the perception of sunlight exposure by building users across different cultural-climatic contexts, with the goal of developing more reliable human-centric design methods for future buildings.
Before joining ETH Zurich, Abel worked as a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany and Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), Estonia. He earned his PhD at TalTech, focusing on daylight and thermal comfort in buildings during the early design stages, and also collaborated with Fraunhofer ISE on the characterization of complex fenestration systems to balance comfort and energy consumption."
