Topic: Dr. Sarah Crosby will give a talk on "Rethinking Building Controls: Can we enhance thermal comfort and indoor environmental quality without sacrificing energy efficiency?"

Speaker Profile

Dr. Sarah Crosby is the Managing Director of the Zero Carbon Building Systems Lab at the Chair of Architecture and Building Systems at ETH Zürich. Prior to joining ETH, she was a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), where she led an EU-funded project focused on low-carbon retrofits for European residential and heritage buildings. Dr. Crosby holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada, where she worked as a researcher at the Building Decisions Research Group. Specialising in building physics, ventilation, and indoor environmental design, Dr. Crosby’s research advances novel approaches to enhance building environments, improve occupants’ thermal comfort, and reduce building energy consumption. Links to her workGoogle Scholar
