Zero energy and zero emission housing in the city – using the example of a multistory residential building, this design studio investigated if and how higher ecological requirements could be met in a large housing complex. That is to say, if housing typologies can be developed that achieve efficient energy performance parameters despite a large built volume. The studio team analyzed how buildings would have to be set up which need little to no energy and which could be constructed with as little embodied energy as possible. CO2 emissions during construction and operation were also discussed.
